This is a continuation of FDT 451. It gives students the opportunity to evaluate and sample and display knowledge and skills acquired in pattern drafting, toiling, clothing designs, millinery and accessories during the four (4) years of the programme in the form of an exhibition of creative designs and products.
The course shall enable students to apply the knowledge and skills acquired within the programme to create a portfolio of various works, some of which must be exhibited in addition to the final project work for assessment.
The course shall equip students with knowledge and skills of salesmanship and sales management.
The course provides knowledge and skills to students on the methods, practices and operations used to promote and sustain various activities of the fashion industry. The process makes it possible to arrange all the required raw materials and ensures that goods produced will be affordable and desired by the target market and consumers in good time.
This course builds on the knowledge and skills provided by FDT 463, Thesis/Project I. Students will be required to finalise their research thesis/project and submit them periodically to their respective supervisors for criticisms and corrections. Students will be given deadlines for submission and assessment after prior approval of completion by the supervisor(s).
