FDT 471 Collection Development
The course covers evaluation and sampling of designs from pattern drafting, toiling, clothing designs, millinery and accessories from previous semesters.
FDT 472 Quality Control in Garment Production (2 Credit Hours)
The course aims at equipping students with knowledge and skills in high competence and speed required by the fashion/textile industry. Emphasis is placed on high technical competence (accuracy and comprehensiveness), good finishing and speed in the production of garments.
FDT 473 Beauty Culture (3 Credit Hours)
This course introduces students to the line of professionalism in the beauty industry. It equips students with knowledge, skills and creativity in a wide range of techniques related to beauty. Emphasis is placed on skin care, bridal and ordinary make-up, nail art and hair styling.
FDT 474 Entrepreneurship II
This course provides enhanced knowledge and skill in entrepreneurship. Students will also acquire skills that will help them to create and sustain their own businesses and business partnerships.
FDT 475 Thesis/Project I
This course builds on the knowledge and skills provided by courses related to research methodology. It requires students to demonstrate the ability to research on a problem in fashion and textiles and come out with a thesis (theoretical) or an original object (invention) with a report, which may include the design and construction of the product(s), tool(s) (equipment) or machine, which would help in the promotion of fashion production.
